Pumpkin Day 25th October 2014

We raised £151.23, which is almost treble what we made two years ago! The black cat theme/awareness to try to get more black and black and white cats rehomed was very successful and people seemed drawn to our mixture of black cat items; puzzles, ornaments, notebooks, coasters, key rings, mugs, fridge magnets and hand knitted cats. We had a "spooky" books table, pumpkins, witches hats and spiders as well as CP merchandise. We also decorated the gazebo with black cat bunting and used enlarged black cat posters. The event was well attended as there was a Continental Market as well as the usual trade stalls and charity tables. We lashed the gazebo to the railings and weighted the feet down with a house brick to make sure we did not end up in the river; mercifully, the wind was light and we did not "take off" (we've had a few near misses with volunteers clinging to the each corner of the gazebo in the past!). We are positioned right next to the river so it can be breezy....
